Message from TIMI Family
We are deeply saddened to have lost our founding chairman and the father of modern academic cardiology, Dr. Eugene Braunwald.
Dr. Braunwald founded the TIMI Study Group in 1984, and with that vision profoundly shaped the practice of cardiovascular medicine across the world. More than 40 years, 80 clinical trials, and 450,000 trial participants later, we are proud that the TIMI Study Group has impacted almost every facet of cardiovascular care.
Dr. Braunwald’s intellectual rigor and zeal for discovery were legendary. While he touched many lives, we at TIMI were truly blessed to directly work with and learn from him over treasured decades. The >50 TIMI fellows Dr. Braunwald trained have become leaders in cardiovascular care around the world.
We will deeply miss him, but take comfort in knowing that we will carry forward his legacy and continue his lifelong mission to advance cardiovascular care.
